Disciplinary measures decided for two senior officials
Hanoi (VNA) – The Secretariat
of the Party Central Committee agreed on disciplinary measures against a senior official of Son La province and another of the naval force at a meeting in Hanoi
on June 19.
Hoang Tien Duc, member of the
provincial Party Committee of Son La in 2015-2020 term, secretary of the Party
Committee (2015-2020 term) and Director of Son La’s Department of Education and
Training, was stripped of all his Party positions for his violations of rules
in organising the senior high school examination in 2018 in Son La.
The Secretariat said in his
capacity as standing deputy chairman of the steering committee for the senior
high school examination in 2018 and chairman of the exam council, Duc was
responsible for advising the provincial People’s Committee in selecting two officials
who had children sit in the exam for the steering committee for the senior high
school examination, which was a violation of exam regulations.
He was also blamed for the lack
of monitoring and inspection during the exam, resulting in the serious violations
of exam regulations, with some involved officials prosecuted.
Duc has admitted to his rule
violations and mistakes. Functional agencies were of the view that his
violations are serious, negatively affecting the prestige of the local Party
organisation, authorities, educational sector and himself, and causing
resentment in society to the level that requires the imposition of Party
disciplinary measures.
The other disciplined official was Vice Admiral Nguyen Van Tinh, who must bear a leader’s
responsibility for serious violations and mistakes of the standing board of the
Party Committee of the Vietnam People’s Navy during the 2005-2020 term during
the time he served as member of the Party Central Committee, member of the
Central Military Commission, Secretary of the Party Committee of the naval
force (from November 2005 to January 2008) and Political Commissar of the force.
Specifically, the standing board of the Party Committee of the Vietnam People’s Navy during the 2005-2020 term violated the principle of centralised democracy and working regulations as well as the jurisdiction and laws on land management, and slackened leadership, direction, inspection and supervision.
Functional agencies concluded that the Vice
Admiral’s mistakes were serious, negatively affecting the prestige of the Party
organisation, the military and himself.
Therefore, the Party Central
Committee’s Secretariat decided to give him a warning as a disciplinary
measure.-VNA
