Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam wants the US and Cuba to maintain constructive and cooperative dialogues, said the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Le Thi Thu Hang.

Vietnam also wants the two countries to seek measures for their differences and promote bilateral ties, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region, Hang said.

She made the statement in Hanoi on April 25 during the ministry’s regular press conference where reporters sought to know Vietnam’s comment on the US’s increasing of embargo on Cuba.

“Vietnam’s consistent policy is strongly supporting the United Nations General Assembly’s resolutions asking the US to end policies and laws that impose economic, trade and financial embargo on Cuba, with the latest 2018 Resolution A/Res/73/8 with 189 approval votes,” the spokesperson said.-VNA
