Hanoi (VNA) - A sailing ship of the Vietnam People’s Navy anchored at Changi port on April 23, beginning a four-day visit to Singapore that lasts until April 26.

Aboard the vessel, coded HQ-286 and named Le Quy Don, are naval officers, sailors and last-year students from the Vietnam Naval Academy.

The Vietnamese guests were welcomed at the port by representatives from the Republic of Singapore Navy.

The Singaporean navy representatives then made a visit of the Le Quy Don ship, during which they were introduced to the ship’s external relation activities in recent years.

During their stay, the Le Quy Don crewmembers will engage in a series of visits and exchanges with the Singaporean side.

The sailing ship belongs to the training ship fleet of the Vietnam Naval Academy. It was designed by Poland’s Choren Design & Consulting and built by Marine Projects in 2014. The ship was launched in June 1, 2015.-VNA
