Hanoi (VNA)Vietnam’s newest airline, Bamboo Airways, will launch three international air routes later this month to anticipate the increasing demand for travel during the five-day holiday on the occasion of the Reunification Day on April 30 and Labour Day on May 1.

Specifically, the first flight connecting Hanoi and the Republic of Korea’s Incheon will be opened on April 26.

Meanwhile, the airline will start operating flights to a couple of Taiwanese airports on April 27 with Hanoi-Tainan and Da Nang-Taipei routes.

The following day, flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Ibaraki prefecture of Japan will also be put into operation.

At first, these flights will be carried out as charter flights, which means that Bamboo Airways will coordinate with tour operators in providing tour packages to the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, as well as bringing tourists from these markets to Vietnam.

Bamboo Airways Vice President and Deputy General Director Duong Thi Mai Hoa said that the airline expects to meet increasing demand for travel during the five-day holiday from April 27 to May 1, as well as contribute to boosting trade exchange between Vietnam and the three potential markets.

According to Hoa, Bamboo Airways and Prague’s international airport inked a memorandum of understanding on the launch of a direct air route between Hanoi and Prague.

At present, the airline operates 17 domestic air routes. Its fleet is estimated to rise to 40, including aircraft such as Airbus A320, A321 Neo, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.–VNA
