Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Vo Van Thuong hosted a reception for Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean in Hanoi on March 22.

Thuong, who is also head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, spoke highly of the Singaporean guest’s contribution to promoting the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership. He expressed his hope that Teo’s visit will help tighten the friendship and mutual trust between the two states.

Hailing the effective cooperation between the two countries, Thuong suggested further collaboration in the fields of education and training, people-to-people exchange, high-quality human resources development and science development, among others.

Teo, for his part, highlighted that as Vietnam and Singapore share remarkable similarities in culture and society, they can share experience during the development and integration process.

He said that both sides should maintain cooperation in the training of young officials. - VNA
