Hanoi (VNA) – Tuong Phieu communal house in Phuc Tho district, Hanoi was designated a national special relic site at a ceremony held on February 18.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc approved the recognition in a decision signed on December 24, 2018.

With carving art featuring the architecture of Le Trung Hung Dynasty (The Later Le Restoration from 1533 to 1789), Tuong Phieu is a renowned site in Doai area (old Son Tay province).  The communal house is home to precious exhibits from 17th-18th century, valuable for the study of cultural practices in the ancient Doai area.

In addition, the Tuong Phieu festival, which is held annually in the first lunar month, is held at the communal house.

According to Chairman of the Phuc Tho district People’s Committee Doan Trung Tuan, the district will pay attention to preserving Tuong Phieu communal house by enhancing State management of cultural heritage and accelerating communications to raise public awareness of the national special relic site.
