Hanoi (VNA)
– Hanoi and Moscow are expected to promote cooperation and experience sharing in numerous fields, especially corruption prevention.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu and Alexander Anikin, Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Russian President, both expressed the desire for collaboration during their meeting in Vietnam’s capital city on February 19.

Suu highlighted the sound traditional relations between Vietnam and Russia, which are illustrated in various aspects. The two countries are looking forward to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of their bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020, he said.

While informing the guest about Hanoi’s socio-economic development, Suu said the city is in the process of urbanisation, improving its transport infrastructure and management capacity.

Hanoi is especially focused on efforts in anti-corruption and respect for the law, he said, adding that nearly 400 corruption inspection cases are conducted in the city every year.

For his part, Anikin said Russia is willing to support Hanoi in this field.

He believed that the sound long-standing relations between Vietnam and Russia will create a premise for Hanoi and Moscow to enhance cooperation in preventing and combating corruption. –VNA
