Bac Giang (VNA) – An exhibition on the cultural space of Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu opened in the northern province of Bac Giang on February 14.

On display were over 200 photos, materials and artefacts featuring the local development history, the formation of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect, the Buddhist revival of the first three patriarchs of the sect, a wooden block kept by Vinh Nghiem pagoda, and household appliances from the Ly to Tran King Dynasties.

Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Si Cam said many relic and cultural sites related to national construction and defence, especially during the Ly to Tran King Dynasties, remain along the slope of Tay Yen Tu mountain.

In particular, relic sites linked to the formation of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect were upgraded into the Vinh Nghiem, Am Vai, Ho Thien, and Yen Ma pagodas.

The exhibition is also expected to raise public awareness of preserving and upholding historical and cultural traditions of the nation, popularise tourism, and attract more investment in the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourism area.

On the occasion, the organising board also debuted the book “Relic and scenic sites of Tay Yen Tu” by the Publishing House of Ethnic Culture. The 87-page book introduces 12 sites along the slope of Tay Yen Tu mountain, such as Vinh Nghiem and Am Vai pagodas. –VNA
