HCM City (VNA) – The management board of the Vietnam Seventh-day Adventist Church held a ceremony to start its first academic year for a batch of students of its Christian Bible College in Ho Chi Minh City on December 17.

Addressing the event, Pastor Tran Thanh Truyen, head of the church, said that upon receiving permission from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs on the establishment of the school for its followers in August 2017, the church has spared no efforts in preparing for its operation.

The school’s graduates are hoped to become the country’s outstanding citizens and missionaries, pastors, as well as leading officials of the Church, he noted.

The school provides four-year and two-year training programmes. Its first batch for the 2018-2022 programme attracted 17 students across the country.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Protestant Christian denomination, was granted a licence in 2006. To date, it has 17 religious chapters and 193 groups in 33 cities and provinces nationwide. -VNA
