Moscow (VNA) – Nearly 50 Vietnamese people living in different cities of Russia participated in a winter tennis tournament held by the Vietnam Tennis Association in Russian Federation (VITAR) in Moscow from December 6-9.

Competing for six sets of cups, participating athletes entertained audiences with fierce and competitive matches.

The annual event aims to enhance solidarity among the Vietnamese community in Russia.

On this occasion, VITAR organised a congress, during which a new 15-strong executive board for the 2018-2021 tenure was chosen, with Phan Tuan Khanh re-elected as its president.

Khanh said that VITAR has served as a bridge connecting Vietnamese people in Europe, as the association’s open tournaments have attracted the participation of athletes from not only Russia, but also other European nations.–VNA
