Hanoi (VNA) - A photo exhibition entitled “Undiscovered Kazakhstan” opened in Hanoi on December 5 to mark the 20th founding anniversary of its capital city of Astana.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kazakh Ambassador to Vietnam Beketzhan Zhumakhanov said that Astana has become a symbol of independence and a major factor in Kazakhstan’s development. The capital city has recorded dynamic growth with high competitiveness in the Eurasian region, he noted.

The photos are expected to introduce a new angle of Kazakhstan, especially the country’s landscapes to local visitors. On display are works capturing the modern look of Astana with an array of architecture in the city that has only been built over the past two decades.

Sergey Tokhtarov, Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy’s representative office in Almaty, voiced his belief that the event will hold a significant meaning in the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
