HÀ NỘI — Sanna Khánh Hòa and Hải Phòng both failed to score in their Premier League clash yesterday.

The game was held at the Nha Trang Stadium in Khánh Hòa Province.

Khánh Hòa controlled the game in the first half in front of their home fans, but still couldn’t manage to find the net.

They created many chances to have the opener but goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm of Hải Phòng was on top form, justifying his call up the Việt Nam national team for the Asian Games to be held in Indonesia next month.

After the break, host coach Võ Đình Tân changed his tactics in search of an opener, but it was Lâm on top form to keep the scores level.

With his impressive performances for Hải Phòng, Lâm is expected to be No 1 choice of South Korean coach Park Hang-seo for Việt Nam U23 team at the upcoming Asian Games in which Việt Nam will face Japan, Pakistan and Nepal in Group D.

On Saturday, Hà Nội FC came from behind to beat V.League 1’s runners-up FLC Thanh Hóa 3-2 at the Thanh Hóa Stadium.

With this win, the capital team top the league with 51 points, 17 points ahead of Sanna Khánh Hòa.

Thanh Hóa are in the fourth place, 21 points behind Hà Nội.

Coach Chu Đình Nghiêm of Hà Nội is confident that his team will win the title.

“We will win the league because as usual, teams only need 48 or 50 points, they will lift the trophy,” said Nghiêm.

Elsewhere, Sông Lam Nghệ An defeated Hoàng Anh Gia Lai 3-1, Bình Dương crushed Đà Nẵng 4-1 while Nam Định tied with Quảng Nam 1-1. — VNS
