ĐÀ NẴNG — Budget airline VietJetAir has launched flights connecting Đà Nẵng and Deagu in South Korea.

According to VietJet Air, flight times took around four hours and 15 minutes.

Both Vietnamese and South Korean budget airlines have been operating daily flights connecting South Korean cities and Đà Nẵng since 2014.

According to the city’s tourism department, there are 12 flights from South Korea to Đà Nẵng every week, carrying an average of 1,500 passengers.

Tourists from South Korea account for the second largest segment of foreign tourist arrivals in Đà Nẵng at 1 million last year.

In a meeting with the city’s leadership in early July, the South Korean Ambassador to Việt Nam, Kim Do Hyon, said South Korea planned to open a consulate in the city to promote tourism and investment.

South Korea also helped the city build the Việt Nam-Korea Friendship Information Technology College with Official Development Aid (ODA) funding of US$10 million. — VNS
