Young Vietnamese tennis talent Nguyễn Văn Phương won the men’s doubles of the TC Bakkum Dutch Junior Open in the Netherlands yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Young Vietnamese tennis talent Nguyễn Văn Phương won the men’s doubles of the TC Bakkum Dutch Junior Open in the Netherlands yesterday.

Unseeded pair Phương and Nicholas David Ionel of Romania beat the No 1 seed duo Mathys Erhard of France and Nodskov Rune of Denmark 7-6, 6-3 in the final to take the title.

Phương and his partner recorded four wins to reach the final.

The event was an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Grade 2 tennis tournament.

In the men’s singles, Phương, world junior No 224, was defeated in the third round after losing to Gustaf Strom of Sweden. — VNS
