Jakarta (VNA) – There is no information that any Vietnamese nationals were affected by twin blasts in Jakarta on May 24, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Hoang Anh Tuan told Vietnam News Agency.

The explosions occurred near a Transjakarta bus station in Kampung Melayu in the eastern part of the capital.

The suspected double suicide bombing killed three officers and injured five other officers and five civilians. Two bombers, both male, also died in the blasts.

Ambassador Tuan said the embassy contacted local administrative agencies after the blasts to collect information.

No Vietnamese live in Kampung Melayu, he added.

He warned Vietnamese expats in Indonesia to be careful and avoid crowded places or violent hotspots during Ramadan, which often sees security problems.-VNA
